Hsaio-Chen J. Lin

Hsiao-Chen J. Lin (they/them) was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1992. They are the second child of a Taiwanese family of teachers. They moved to Houston, Texas in 2005 for middle school and high school, and later Seattle, Washington in 2011. Lin went on to various locations like Chicago, Illinois, and Osaka, Japan during their meandering undergraduate years, studying languages and cultures while making art as a side hobby. In 2018 they returned to Chicago and finished their studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) where they decided their future lies in the path of sociocultural anthropology. Lin will start their graduate course at the University of Oxford in October 2020. In the future, they hope to continue down the path of teaching, following the footstep of the Lin family.
