I’m originally from the Southside of Chicago. I attended high school in the city. In my sophomore year I was one of the regional winners of the Scholastics Magazine Art Exhibition. After high school, I did a stint at US Steel Southworks where, in two years, I earned enough to pay tuition to the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, I received a referral from my therapist. He said Karen reached out to him to find if any of his patients wished to participate. After reading the attachment and visiting the website, I thought it was a worthwhile project. I definitely wanted to be a participant.
