Constructing Queer Existence Our Way

The queered dollhouse creates spaces that represent moments of self- imagination capturing lived experiences, cultural influences, or a sense of belonging. The artmaking became an experience in which we each designed our own individual rooms, while collectively constructing the home together. While working collaboratively on the project we each discovered our curiosities and connections to the LGBTQ+ community. Each room in the dollhouse expresses our different experiences of what it means to be part of the LGBTQ+ community. As the project developed we witnessed each other’s different narratives that developed through completing the different themes, creation of tiny objects, and design of our queered dollhouse.
