A Ride Along Rainbow Road: A Journey of Everyday LGBTQ+ Life

The road to the current state of LGBTQIA+ equality has not been a straight path. Our collective road has had many stops and starts, slowing down and speeding up. As we seek to show the road we’ve traveled and also the path to come, we want to invite you to drive along with us. This piece’s goal is to show through the lens of a roadmap, the lives of LGBTQIA+ persons who have come before us, that are here now and those who have yet to start their own proverbial engines. Our video portion has Lonnie Love (58) unboxing his trans journey along his own rainbow road, through a spoken word piece edited together by Gal 3 (21). Robert (56) will take a journey through different LGBTQ+ identities in a performance piece that showcases queer transformation, while Mari (23) has been responsible for pulling our project together. Collaborating on this has been an experience that we are not soon to forget, we are proud of our work and we hope the message is received clearly.
