We ended the Fall 2023 semester with a Storytelling Extravaganza in which participants shared with everyone in our group the stories they had been working on in intergenerational pairs and small groups. The event was held in Center on Halsted’s Hoover-Leppen Theatre on December 11, 2023. We had the fortunate timing to be using the theater during the seasonal run of a Golden Girls holiday drag performance, and told our stories on a stage designed to look like the Golden Girls’ living room with Santa’s sled to one side. We all found the event to be incredibly moving as we listened to 3 hours of stories that were heartbreaking, hilarious, and thought-provoking.
